Potty Training

Assessing Readiness:
Most kids can start potty training at age 18 to 24 mo of age
Readiness checklist
1) Ask child to:
- Sit on a chair
- Stand up
- Walk to you to another room (toilet)
2) Look if child can:
- Stay dry for 2 hours at a time (75% by 24 mo of age)
- Communicate they need to urinate/defecate
- Shows discomfort with soiled underwear/diaper
